Hey Don,You are not in my district but I need to conemmt on a few of your ideas. I don't believe right-to-work is a good idea, not just because I belong to a labor union but, because it will lower salaries. if you compare the right-to-work states with the red states they are almost identical. These states also have lower wages compared to non-right-to-work states. What I think we nned to do is reform the union contracts that we have. I am in the Sheet Metal Workers union local 17, we are part of the building trades. We are a private union and our contractors bid work against nonunion shops. We control our own pensions and health insurance plans. If insurance increases, we take the money out of our next raise to cover increase. Why can't we reform the teachers, police, fire, state workers, ect. union contracts(we call them communist unions.) Let the unions manage their pensions and heath insurance. This will take the burden away from the tax payers. Move all the money to trust funds set up and managed by trustees of the unions. If there is an increase in insurance premiums or they want to allocate more money to their pension, they simply move money from their wage of future wage increase to the appropiate fund. I can explain this easier in person, maybe next time I see you at the school we can talk for a few minutes. Anyways, good luck with your campaign.
