U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch is trying to overcome the stiffest challenge of his career.
The six-term senator will vie with former state Sen. Dan Liljenquist at Utah's Republican convention in June for the party's nomination.
Hatch failed to get the needed 60 percent of delegate votes during Saturday's Utah Republican convention that would have made him the outright GOP nominee.
Hatch received 57 percent of the vote in the first round, while Liljenquist got 28 percent. Both now advance to a June 26 primary.
